Jim studied art in college and soon found his passion
translated well to the craft of making teeth. With his brother opening a dental
practice in Rhode Island, Jim proceeded to earn his degree in dental arts and
move to Boston for his apprenticeship. Shortly thereafter, he returned to
Southern California where he founded California Dental Arts in 1983. After a
fire in 2012 destroyed his business, Jim and his wife, Nadine, founded JNR
Dental Arts in its wake. Despite the challenges of owning a boutique lab in an
ever-changing technological environment, Jim enjoys continuing his education through
classes and seminars while applying his artistic sensibilities to every restoration
that passes through his hands.
Nadine graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Psychobiology and a simultaneous degree in Dental Technology from LACC. After graduation, she worked in the dental lab industry for three years before branching out on her own to form her own business, Omicron Dental Lab. She ran this lab from her home office while raising her two daughters for twenty years before merging with California Dental Arts in 2006. As a CDT for twenty-four years, Nadine is constantly attending seminars and classes to master new trends. She takes great pleasure in the art of dentistry and creating beautiful and long-lasting crowns and bridges for patients.
